Funny Things Flight Attendants Say and Do
Just like with every job, everyone has good and bad days but unfortunately for flight attendants, the people who can get on their nerves the most are contained in a small space with them for hours. Yes, their job has lots of perks (like seeing the world for example) but it still comes with its grievances. Luckily they are trained to deal with annoying passengers and they have some tricks up their uniformed sleeves to help.
From just taking a short breather to venting to their coworkers, airline cabin crews have a list of things they do to help deal with the stress of their career choice. Even though it is rare that things get so bad that they need every step of their training, flight attendants are actually trained to deal with conflict resolution if needed.
15 Gate Agents Can Deny Boarding
Even before passengers board, flight attendants are on duty and have tasks from making sure everyone has the correct paperwork to the correct luggage allowance (just to name a few). If a passenger has made any inappropriate remarks or even shows public intoxication, it is at the gate agent's discretion to not allow a passenger to board.
14 Just Speak To Them
Sometimes an annoying passenger just needs to be reminded what they are doing is irritating to those around them and a flight attendant can simply request they stop said offensive behavior. Otherwise, a flight attendant is responsible for helping a patron whenever possible, and can just ask if they can help soothe the situation.
13 Changing It Up
Another option in dealing with an annoying passenger is simply reseating the other passengers away from the person exhibiting intrusive behavior. From a lover's quarrel to drunken intoxication, sometimes there is no escape from conflict on a small aircraft but hopefully, there are enough empty seats to relieve some tension.
12 O Captain, My Captain
The third step in dealing with an annoying passenger is to notify the pilot of the aircraft. It is the pilot's duty to be responsible for all passengers, crew, and cargo on board so if they feel a passenger is endangering others or themselves, it's time to step in. Which means it could be a rocky flight in more ways than one!
11 They're In Trouble
This option seems like a fan favorite for onlookers but if a passenger really got out of hand, then it would be time to get law enforcement involved upon landing. This would not just be a slap on the wrist either; at this stage, the passenger can be fined or even charged.
10 Show A Bit Of Compassion
Like in most conflicts in life, it is always a good idea to put yourself in the other person's shoes to see where their frustration stems from. This is one of the first steps cabin crew is taught to help deal with their passengers too by simply showing a bit of compassion.
9 Always Use Teamwork
Flight attendants work as part of a crew, and they always have each other's backs. When one teammate has a disagreement with a passenger, then generally speaking they all would. Some advice; it is never a good idea to anger the people who handle your food.

8 Keep It On The Down Low
Flight attendants are taught to first quietly speak to the annoying party first about their behavior as to not make a scene. Just by embarrassing or possibly provoking a passenger they can escalate a scenario and cabin crew are just trying to do their job and go home like everyone else.
7 Much Needed Break
Sometimes, no matter what their training has taught them, flight attendants just need a break. Removing themselves from an irritating scenario can help them refresh, collect themselves, and then clear their mind for a better outlook to do their job.
6 What's The Scoop?
The best part about working on a team is knowing everyone has your back because they are all going through the same thing you are. Most of the time cabin crew choose to gossip and vent with coworkers about how stressful their day is which helps the time "fly" by.
5 The Bar Is Closed
Even if you are on your way to a bachelor party with a bunch of your friends, or maybe you just need a few drinks to settle your nerves while flying, drinking too much is a no-no when flying. The cabin crew has every right to cut off drunk passengers no matter how entertaining they may be for other people on board.

4 Time For Restraints
In the most extreme scenarios, some passengers actually need to be restrained. Law enforcement, an air marshall, or the pilots would usually assume this duty, but the flight attendants also have the right to do so if they feel their safety or any of the passengers' safety is in jeopardy.
3 Diffusing The Bomb
While saying the word bomb on a flight will get you on the no-fly list, flight attendants are trained to diffuse metaphorical explosions. They have been trained in conflict resolution in an array of scenarios and are taught to de-escalate the situation.

2 Get Them On The No Fly List
On the rarest occasions, a passenger is so annoying that their behavior escalates to becoming belligerent. Each airline has its own standards of what classifies a passenger to be put on the no-fly list but causing a scene to the point of being aggressive can get you there.
1 Get Even
A passive-aggressive way to deal with an annoying passenger is to hilariously get even. According to New York Post, some flight attendants throw first-class patrons coats on the ground, water down drinks for already-drunk passengers, and even sometimes "crop-dusting" the passengers by passing gas while walking by them. This gives a whole new reason to use the oxygen masks!
